Jim, The Hezekiah that married Rachel unkown was Hezekiah Whitt the son of
Richard and Susannah. The other Hezekiah Whitt that they are talking about
is suppose to be a son of Cornstalk, the Indian chief, that was adopted by
Thomas Mastin. The same Thomas Mastin raised Thomas Christian which they
are saying was also a son of Cornstalk.. I do know that Thomas Mastin
raisied an orpahn, Thomas Christian because it states that in Hezekiah
Whitt's pension papers, but that is all the informatioin that it has. In
all my searching for information on Hezekiah Whitt of Tazewell County I have
never ran across any information on a Hezekiah "Low Hawk" Whitt or a
Hezekiah N. Whitt in Tazewell.
A lot of people have Hezekiah's wife Rachel as a Skaggs, she may be, but I
have never seen any documentation suggesting this is true. She was thought
to be Indian and I do have some information on that from her daughter Shone.
Hezekiah was involved in the Indian wars in the Revolutionary War, so I was
wondering if there was any information on him being with a William Skaggs.
If there is actual documentaion to who Rachel, wife of Hezekiah, was then I
think some of the Skaggs researchers should have found it as much as they
have searched the records.
