Funeral services were held today for Mrs. Bertha Poindexter Slaydon of Ruffin, NC. She was the wife for 50 years of the late Cabel Slaydon.

I'm probably related to her, but so far I haven't researched that family line enough to know. I do know that one branch of that family spelled the name Slaton and another branch of the same family spelled it Slaydon. I have even seen it spelled Slaten and Slayton.
