Most large library systems have Slave schedule indexes, some smaller one
also. Depends on how many folks are doing research but you can get the
books for the state you are looking in through the interloan system at any
public library. You can look at them for maybe a week or more.

****Interesting story this site. But - for example the owner family I'm
researching has more then one farm in more then one district/ county and
own Tobacco Stemmery's then they will look as if they own very few slaves.
When in fact they owned hundreds.
So it is always better to check the film yourself from beginning to end.


Folks: The 1850 and 1860 US Federal Slave Schedules were indexed in book
form by Dr. Ronald Vern Jackson in the 1980s.
