Hello to All!
I got to thinking (my wife will tell you that is always trouble!), that
perhaps we all ought to learn a bit more about each other. Not just who are
ancesters were, but who we are, and what our goals and interests are.
Sooo,
Lanny and Sharon Slavey. Live in Pulaski Co. Came here about 15 years ago
from Cincinnati Ohio. I am 46 and Sharon is 47. We have 3 kids. I use to
work at a chemical plant, but I am disabled now. Sharon works part time in
the kitchen at a home for special needs. We are only high school grads
ourselves, and are trying to help 2 of our kids attend college. We live on
what was a farm, out in the sticks about 7 miles from Somerset, Ky. We got
started doing genealogy last Jan., 1997, after first discovering Robert, who
put this all together. Up to that point, the Slavey's of Pulaski County Ky.
, did not even know that there were other Slavey families. Some of us knew
that there were Slaven's in McCreary County Ky., but did not know there
might be a connection. While our first goal has not changed, (finding the
parents of my greatgrandfather Amos Slavey), we are now interested in
putting together all that we can on all Slaven/Slavey's, and sharing that
with anyone who cares, and have now developed a special interest in solving
the Richard Slavey mystery, just because we like mysteries.
At times we like being silly, but when seriousness is called for , we know
how to be responsible. Bottom line is, we just like having fun, and think
that genealogy is loads of fun :) At times we get a little lengthy, and we
some times sound argumentative and grouchy, but all in all we are just
trying to find answers. And if there is anyone who needs anything, just
shout, and we will try to help you somehow!! We are just a couple of old
kitty cats....
Thank you all!!!
Lanny
