My Grandmother's diary states that John Slavens came to America before he turned 21 tears of age. Before he came over his name was John O Laverty. After he arrived here, he changed his name to John Slavin. He married Elizabeth Stuart (how she spelled it). Later changed to Slaven. A son Isaiah added the "s". They had 7 children, Comfort 1750, William 1753, Elizabeth 1754, Naomi 1758, John 1760, Isaiah 1762, Reuben 1763, Daniel (died), Stuart died 1832, Henry 1768.
