Subject: [Smith-Hants-UK] ROLL CALL

Hello Everyone,
My name is Marie and I am the List Administrator.
Where is everyone? There does not appear to be many Listers posting
enquiries and/or exchanging information.
Mailing Lists are to exchange ideas and subject matter. Below are a few
questions to get the ball rolling.
What has been some of the most interesting things that you have
discovered about X ancestor?
What has been your biggest frustration in researching X?
Who's your biggest brick wall?
Why not post, to the List, all your unusable data. Someone just may be
looking for information you have discarded.
There are a number of things that we should all remember so as to allow
the list to run smoothly.
Give your email an appropriate subject heading. If you do not show what
your query is about, some subscribers will not take time to open it.
Please sign your emails with a name and place. It helps if readers know
where you are when replying to queries such as 'Where can I find...?'
The list will not accept attachments. If you do, your email won't get
through as Rootsweb filters them out.
When replying, edit your email so as not to include copies of complete
emails. Edit them down to the relevant passage.
Because of the filters applied by Rootsweb, you will not catch any
viruses through this List. Please do not clutter up the list with virus
warnings, many of which are hoaxes anyway. If you feel that you should
advise Listers of a virus, please check first at
www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html to see if it is a hoax.
Although you should use lower case for the text of an email, it is a
good idea to use capitals for the surnames you are researching so that
they can be spotted easily.
