Hi Alan,

I'll look forward to getting your information. I am trying to piece
together two Smith lines in Sussex County. One line produced a Margaret
Smith, born probably between 1795 and 1798, who married my great, great,
great grandfather, Ziba Nichols, in 1816 (I think; it appears they were
married in Sparta). It appears Ziba was living in Jefferson Township,
Morris County (his family probably was from Morris Co) and they were
living in Morris County in 1817 and 1818, based on the tax ratables. By
1820 +/-, Ziba and Margaret had moved to Hardyston Township. After
giving birth to 9 (I think) children, she died Dec. 16, 1843, probably
in Sparta, and probably is buried in the Methodist part of the Sparta
cemetery as Ziba, according to his obituary, was one of two persons who
introduced Methodism to Sparta. One of her sons, my great, great
grandfather Ziba Jr., married a Matilda Smith in Sussex County around
1840. It's possible Margaret and Matilda are related.

I have hesitated to research this line because Smith is such a common
name, but I have hit a brick wall with Ziba's family and thought maybe
I'd have better luck with Margaret.

Wow, I thought I had longevity in my line (on my mom's side;
unfortunately, the Nichols don't live very long). That's wonderful about
your dad. Hope he is in good health and remains so for many years to come!
