Subject: [Smith-NYC] Michael Smith on Long Island

Hello,

I know this is going to be a needle in the haystack kind of thing but I'm
trying to pinpoint how a person is related in my family. I'm looking for any
information on a Michael Smith that was living on Long Island in 1941.

He would be my great grandfather's cousin's nephew. I'm trying to
reconstruct that branch of the family and also try to pinpoint where in
Ireland they are from. My great grandfather's name is John Smith so that
isn't much help. I got copies of his cousin's probate papers of 1941. The
cousin was a priest and left most of his possessions to his nieces and
nephews. Most of them are in England or Ireland but Michael is in Long
Island. There is also a John M. Smith that's in Chicago (John is going to be
*really* hard).

With a name like Michael Smith in Long Island, do I have any chance at all of
finding him? Even a death certificate would help so I would have the names
of his parents. But I don't know his birth or death dates or even his middle
name.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Paula.
