1. Nicholas SMITH. Born in Holland.

Misc. Notes:: came from Holland when he was a young boy.
He lived several years near Philadelphia and then setled in Washington
County,Pa where he resided till his death.

2. John A SMITH. John A died in Willshire Township, VanWert County, OH on
JANUARY 7, 1870, he was 71. Born on APRIL 23, 1798 in Washington County,PA.

moved to Franklin County OH from Washington County PA in 1836

Misc. Notes:: The family first moved to Franklin county OH and then latter
moved to Van Wert County,OH.

Misc. Notes:: was reared on his fathers farm in PA.


On APRIL 19, 1818 when John A was 19, he married Mary Polly ZEDIKER,
daughter of David ZEDIKER & Catherine SMITH. Born in 1797 in PA. Mary Polly
died in Willshire, VanWert County, OH on OCTOBER 29, 1854, she was 57.
Religion: Presbyterian. Religon 2: United Brethern.

They had the following children:

Third Generation


3. David SMITH. Born on JUNE 5, 1826 in Washington County PA. David died in
Willshire Twp., Vanwert Co., OH on SEPTEMBER 21, 1907, he was 81.
Occupation: Farmer and Teacher. Farmer. Teacher.

Came from Franklin County,OH
At the age of 21 years he moved with
his family to van wert county,OH



Misc. Notes:: He was indentified in willshire township for his agricultral
intrests and also his serivices as a educator.

Soon after marriage David and his wife,Mary sttled on his present farm of
160 acres. Which David had improved from a state of wilderness.



On FEBRUARY 8, 1849 when David was 22, he first married Mary HARTZOG,
daughter of Solomon HARTZOG & Susannah KING. Born on FEBRUARY 7, 1831 in
Fairfield County, OH. Mary died in willshire Twp., Vanwert Co., OH on AUGUST
15, 1876, she was 45.

They had the following children:

On AUGUST 15, 1876 when David was 50, he second married Sarah A. FISHER,
daughter of Peter FISHER.

4. Margaret Peggy SMITH. Born on MARCH 17, 1824 in Washington County,
Pennsylvania. Margaret Peggy died in van Wert County, OH on OCTOBER 2, 1898,
she was 74. Buried in GreenBrier Cemetery, Van Wert County, OH. .

Notes from obit: Mrs. Hey has been a faithful Christian and Sunday school
worker over fifty years and will be sadly missed by a a husband,two sons,
seven grandchildren and a host of friends who mourn the loss of one always
ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was faith until death
and her evidence was bright for the future world and said she was going
home. Funeral services conducted by Rev, Jackson on Oct. 4th an Bethel
R.N.B. Church

On APRIL 13, 1843 when Margaret Peggy was 19, she married John Paden HEY,
son of HEY & wife of unkown HEY, in Franklin County, Ohio. Born on OCTOBER
22, 1819 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. John Paden died in van Wert
County, OH on APRIL 7, 1905, he was 85. Religion: Brethern. Farmer.

They had the following children:
i.John Marsden. Born in 1845 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Buried
in Darke County, OH. Buried in GreenBrier Cemetery, Van Wert County, OH.
John Marsden died on JANUARY 26, 1864, he was 19. .

John Marsden Hey was ready to go to the civil war , but he died with
Typhoid

26, 1845 in Richland County,O. Wesley J. died in Van Wert County,OH on
SEPTEMBER 15, 1916, he was 71.

On MARCH 13, 1892 when Orin Wilbur was 40, he married Delilah Ann RHODES,
daughter of Wilson Shannon RHODES & Delilah MOREHEAD, in Van Wert County,
OH. Born on JANUARY 25, 1873 in Becks Corner, Van Wert County, OH. Delilah
Ann died in ohio, city, Van Wert County, OH on MAY 11, 1942, she was 69.
