George Smith Dies As Result of Fall

George Smith Jr., 30, succumbed Friday in Oak Knoll Naval Hospital,
Oakland to injuries suffered in a fall on October 23 at his Del Monte Park
Home. A native of Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania, and veteran of World War II,
he came in June of 1947 to live on the Peninsula, where he was employed as a
clerk in the Seaside Market.
He leaves wife Mrs. Loretta Jean Smith and a daughter Cheryl Ann, of Del
Monte Park; his parents Mr. and Mrs. George Smith Sr. of Wilkes-Barre,
Pennsylvania; three brothers, Arthur C. and Charles Smith of
Wilkes-Barre, and Capt. W F Smith stationed with the Air Force in Japan, and
four sisters, Mrs. William Hartnet of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Irene
Butry, Miss Rose and Miss Florence Smith of Wilkes-Barre.
Funeral services to be arranged by the Paul Mortuary, Pacific Grove, will
be announced later.
