Charlotte, do you have any dates for your Jacob Smith, such as
approximate birth, death, marriage? Names of parents, children, spouse?

I am searching for parents and siblings of my GGrandfather, William G.
Smith b. abt. 1831-32 "somewhere" in PA. He married Catherine Logan in
McDonugh Co., IL and they both moved to Schuyler County, MO, where they
died and are buried.

They had several children, my direct line being their son, my
grandfather, James Lockhart Smith b. 1859 in IL. He married Sarah
Irena Lonis, and had my father, Hersel Jacob Smith b. 1907.

The name Jacob caught my eye. I think HERSEL was a surname in IL.
There are no other Jacob's in my family that I know of.
