I can't agree with all of you more concerning ancestry. I have been trying
to find my Smith/Deahl family in Somerset Co Pa. and every thing I come
across that I think MAY be pertinent, it pops me over to ancestry.
The only think I can still get for free are the family trees, and you can do
that at Roots web. I don't understand how they can charge for records that
are free in any courthouse in the US. Trouble is, we can't always get to
those courthouses.

I'm still searching for the Smith family of Somerset Co. William H Smith.
William married into the Deahl family, not once, but twice.
First he married Eliza Ann Deahl, d/O of Jacob. Together they had 2
children. John and Agatha.

When Agatha was about 2, Eliza died. Then William married her first cousin,
Elizabeth, d/O of Simon and Catharine Sliger Deahl. They had the following
children.
Simon, Daniel, George, Henry, Ethelinda, Orpha, Bertha, MaudeDella, William
Jar., and Lucy.

They lived in Addison Twp, Somerset County. Then went to Barbour Co, WV and
then to Preston Co. WV.

Does any of this sound familiar to any of you? If so, please e mail me
