John Smith Born 1808 came from Eng to America in 1830 with his family on the Ship Canova. His father was Richard Smith who died in 1838. His Mother was Phoebe Smith. WHEN DID THIS JOHN DIE? It was between 1847 and 1850 in either Mercer, Beaver or Lawrence Co. His widow Jane Buxton Smith was listed in the 1850 census of Lawrence Co Shenango Twp. with her children. The youngest was Phoebe age 2. Born May 9, 1848. So father John had to be alive in 1847 and gone by 1850.
