Subject: Part 2 of Nimrod Smith, Pendleton Dist SC

Proven children of Nimrod and Lettice Nicholl (Wyatt) Smith:
while I havent seen all of the documentation, it is my understanding that
land records help to show that Nimrod was the father of these Smiths from
Pendleton/Anderson District, South Carolina; consistently, as these children
reached the age of maturity or married, Nimrod traditionally gave them land
and other property to help them establish themselves. Other documents
prove, and circumstantial evidence helps to support, these sibling
relationships; so if just one of these Smiths is proven a child of Nimrod,
then all can be proven to be children of Nimrod.
However, of most significance is the will of Nimrod Smith Senior dated 30
July 1846 in which he names his sons William and Wyatt Smith to be executors
of his estate. This, combined with the probate estate of Isaac Smith, in
1839, helps to prove sibling relationships of whole blood between all of
these Smiths, thus making them all issue of Nimrod and Lettice.
