Subject: [SMITH-TN] Smith of VA/TN DNA Reconstruction Project- Have you hit a brick wall in your search for your ancestor?

If so, and you are a male of Smith descent (your last name is
Smith/Smyth/Smythe) you would benefit from joining the Smith/Smyth/Smythe
project. Here's how it works. FamilyTreeDNA has made their DNA cheek swab
test kit available at a reduced price for those who join as part of the
project. You take the test and return the kit, and after approximately 6
weeks, your results come back from the lab. We, the project managers, update
the web page within a few days after that so that you can compare your Smith
results with others in the project.

There are quite a few Smiths in the project, which has been growing
steadily. You can see the Lines represented at
<http://www.halcyondays.com/Smith/smiths_of_va_lines_taking_test.asp>;
http://www.halcyondays.com/Smith/smiths_of_va_lines_taking_test.asp and note
the link to the main DNA project page from there, which has additional
information.

Suppose, though, that you have Smiths in your line but your last name is not
Smith, or you are a female of Smith descent. If you have male kin, such as a
brother, father, cousin, etc who is a male Smith, perhaps you might have him
take the test as your representative.

Take a look and send me an email if you have questions or are ready to join.
This may be just the thing to jumpstart your research or another avenue to
add to checking out descent.
