No they are not the same. I have a copy of the article that was written in
the History of Houston County about John T. Smith. I will be glad to send
it to you if you want. I too thought at first that they were the same, But
later found the difference. My John Texas Smith, when to Anderson County
after the Civil War and raised his family there. I hope this helps. Roy
