Hello all Smiths,

My most wanted is William Smith born c. 1860, father on his marriage is
Thomas Smith, a tin smith.

William married Mary STEELE in 1887 in Holloway. Only known children are
Frederick George, my grandad, born Dec 31st 1893, and Helen Harriet known as
Ena, who was much younger, probably born about 1903. There were definitely
others. In 1893 William and Mary were living in Orpingley Road Islington
and William was a milk delivery man. In 1913 when Frederick married Florence
Maud WILLIS, William was a fishmonger. My grandfather was also a tinsmith,
working for a firm called Jonkes in the Islington area all his life. I
believe that he rose to works manager, he was a trained smith, not a tin
plate worker.
I have been unable to locate William in the 1881 census, he may have been in
the army, and in the 1891 he was not at the address from which he married in
Hornsey Road, or at the Orpingley Road address. William died about 1942, a
few months after Mary, and I believe that they may both be in the Abney Park
Cemetary.

Bev Pease nee Smith

Sussex.
