My George W. Smithe (1838-1872) parents, birth place unknown. He married

Mary H'eloiseLarche in 1863 in LA. Her parents were Dr. N. E. Larche
&
Adeline Chaney Larche.

George W. Smithe was a Capt in the Civil War and he uses his title on
his
marriage certificate. The "E" on the end of his name was original,
not added,
his only son and daughter later recanted.

It is thought his parents were either Irish or English. He had fair
skin,
dark hair and eyes. Any assistance in locating his parents much
appreciated.
