Hello Everyone,

I am continuing to look for my Great Great Grandfather, David Monroe Smith. I was given he birth date of 1838 by a relative of mine. However, when I located David Monroe Smith with his wife and children in the 1870 July Census, had himself down as 28 years old so that tells me he was born about 1842. That would make him 8 years old in the 1850 census and 18 years old in the 1860 Census. I have no idea who his parents were. I do know he married Mary Jane Aaron in 1866 in Newton Co. Georgia. I have searched the Newton County Area and all surrounding counties for a family with an 8 year old son in 1850 and I am now in the process of searching those same counties and more for an 18 year old David in 1860. Is anybody able to help me in any way with his parentage? I need help.
