Need information on the family of William Vincent Smith. In 1900, 1910, 1920 he is living near a William Alex. Smith, born 1862. Was William A. the son of William Vincent?
Who was Sallie Ellen, wife of William Alexander Smith? She was born February 1873 in MS. Father born NC mother born AL. The were married 11 years according to census, so early 1889.
Their children in 1900 were;

William Dalton Smith - born December 1889. He is of the EXACT right age to have been my grandfather. I do not find him after 1910, when he was 20. He probably left home about that time. If he is indeed my grandfather, he died 26 March 1930 in Tupelo, MS.

Allen Blanchard Smith - born October 1891.
Thomas W. Smith - born November 1893
Marshall R. Smith - born May 1896
Milton C. Smith - born August 1898.

A few doors down are
William "W" (V.) Smith - born April 1840
Mahala born December 1844 MS. I have have her name as Mahalia A. Riddle, dau. of William Harmon Riddle and Emily Shackelford.

William and Mahala have in their household in 1900: Columbus W. Smith born March 1878, Charley A. Smith July 1880, Mary A. born February 1883. In 1910, they have Moses H. Smith and Anna M. Smith, 1910 page 103, Beat 5, Lacy

I have it that William Vincent Smith born 1840 was the son of Henry Smith (25 Feb 1810 Monroe, Pike, GA - d. 1899 Booneville, Prentiss Co, MS) and Elizabeth Katherine Johnson (1816 - married Henry in Pike County, GA 8 September 1836). LDS online info has Henry as the son of a John Smith born 1775 of Pike Co. GA, and grandson of Isaac Smith, born about 1749 of Pike Co. GA.

I would like to find others working on this family.
