Williamsburg, PA, age 85-3-17, therefore b 3lMay1779. Place un-known. She m
Charles EICHHOLTZ of Lancaster, PA, who migrated to Huntingdon Co (now Blair)
PA ca 1807. Children: John Leonard (b 1803) and Jacob (b 1805 in Lancaster);
Henry (1808), George (b 1810), Christian (b 1812), Catharine (1815), Eliza (b
1820), Mary Ann (b 1822), Charlotte (b 1826) all near Williamsburg, Blair Co,

Parents of Margaret Snyder and place of her birth are unknown.

90.CHARLES EDWIN SNYDER (17Mar1877 or 1881 - 24Sep1946) Probably b Delphos,
OH though it is possible that he was b in Dayton area, but maybe parents moved
there in later years. He came to KS and m Mary Edith FETROW of Butler Co KS
27Jul1912 at El Dorado, Butler Co, KS. She d 1920 and their two children,
James and his sister, Nellie, were raised by Mary Edith's sister. Charles'
father supposed to have been a Martin Snyder and Charles is supposed to have
had several brothers and sisters in the Dayton, OH area. It is possible that
either Martins mother or his wife's mother was an Indian, as one of James'
great grandmothers was supposed to have been an Indian.

93.GEORGE SNYDER (b 1798) m Elisabeth (?). George Snyder was a pot-ter and
he lived in Haines Twp, Center Co, PA. They had the following children: Noah
(b 1831), Ira (b 1839), (Mary)Ulana (b 1833), Ellen (b 1842), and Samuel (b
1830). George d 1880. Their daughter Ellen m George Adam HUSS. They also
lived in Center Co, PA.

94.DANIEL SCHNEIDER - b 1731 (Germany?) d 1778 Northampton Co, PA, m 1755
Dorothea BURKHALTER (1735-1809). Children: Maria Barbara (b 1755, m John
BAILLIET); Daniel Jr (b 1757, m Catherine BECHLER); Catherine (b 1759, Peter
KESTER); Eve (b 1760); John (b 1761); Margaret (b 1763, m George KUNTZ);

olutionary War. His son, Daniel Schneider, Jr served in his father's company.
Daniel Schneider Jr, b 1757 Northampton Co, PA, d 1814 in Lehigh Co which was
formed from Northampton in 1812. He m 1781 Catherine Bechler (1760-after
1814). Children: Margaret (b 1781, m Daniel SAEGAR); Catherine (b 1782, m
Nicholas SAEGAR); Elizabeth (b 1786, m Solomon GRAFF); John (b 1789); Jacob b
1790); Daniel (b 1792); Abraham (b 1791}); Solomon (b 1796, m Susannah
SCHLOSSER); and Salome (b 1798, m Abraham WOTRING). Several mem-bers of this
family moved from Lehigh Co to Crawford Co, PA includ-ing Solomon Schneider (b
1796 d 1865) who m ca 1818 Susannah Schlosser (1795-1869). During Solomon's
lifetime the spelling of the name became Snyder.

97.HIRAM SNYDER (Snider) (b ca 1796 PA, lived in Ohio Co VA in 1820) m (1)
Catherine. The family migrated to Highland Co, Ohio 1831/32. Four boys and 6
girls are shown to have been in the home when the 1840 US Census was taken.
About 1848 Hiram moved his family to Brown Co, OH. Known children (of which
the first 3 have not been proven): Margaret (m Christian SNIDER); Samuel (m
Martha VAN ZANT); Andrew (m Minerva EDI); Jackson; Josiah; Melissa (m Henry
0VERSTAKE); Lucinda (d 1851); Barbara (d 1851); and Mary A. Sometime between
1854 and 1858 Catherine died. Hiram then m (2) Mary NAYLOR on 22Jul1858.
Mary was b ca 1837, d 28Feb1913. Children: James (m Martha E STRODE);
Zeraline (m Henry McCLURE); Charles (m Barbara Naylor); Edward (m Mary
HENDERSON); Elizabeth (m John RACHFORD). According to family tradition, Hiram
Snyder went walking through woodland one day to visit someone. He was never
seen again. He would have been around 76 years of age at the time. His name
was found with both spellings.

Lancaster, PA. Probably m (1) Barbara DELLOW 22Sep1791 Rowan Co, NC, and (2)
Lidia SMITH 11Jul184O. Adom resided in Haywood Co NC from ca 1800 until ca
185O. Children are: Sophia (b 1800, m 280ct1820 Benjamin STERN); Elizabeth (b

99.JOHN SNIDER - b 1743, probably in VA or PA, was of German descent. In
1760, John was employed by a Mr Minor, in Greene Co, PA, to hunt for him.
While hunting he was captured by Indians and held for 8 or 9 years. In 1769
he went back to a spot where the Indians had camped when he was first taken
prisoner, and acquired a large farm there called Indian Camp. It is on
Crooked Run, in Monongalia Co, WV. John d 13May1830 and is believed to be
buried on his farm. He served in the Revolutionary War. In 1776 he m Dorcas
EVANS, b 9Jul 1775 - d 24Feb1827, d/o John Evans, Sr and his wife Sarah DENNY.
John and Dorcas were said to have been the parents of 8 sons and 8 daughters,
we have records for only 13 children: David (1777-1851), Joseph N
(1778-1846), John Jr (1780-1823), Joshua (1791-1864), Amos (1782-1847),
Elizabeth (1786-1866), Rebecca (1788-1849), Elisha (1790-1838), Elijah
(1793-1853), Thomas (1749-1860) Dorcas, Celisia, and Polly.

100. MICHAEL SNIDER (b ca 1783-84 in PA) Possible son of Abraham Snider, who
appears on the 1800 Census of PA (Allegheny Co). Abraham Snider of Allegheny
Co PA bought land in Columbiana Co OH in 1803. Michael Snider m Eve MUSSER,
daughter of Samuel Musser and wife Anna Maria of Springfield Twp, Columbiana
Co, OH (now Mahoning Co) ca 1803. Michael appears on a list of names of men
who offered their labor to build the "Old Springfield" Lutheran and Reformed
Church in that year. Two Abrahams, a John and Michael Snider appear as
resident taxpayers of Columbiana Co OH in i8io. Michael and Eve Snider
probably had 10-12 children, according to the census, but only 6 have been
positively identi-fied: John (b1804, d 1879, m his first cousin Mary Musser),
Abraham (b 12Aug1815, m Susannah WHITE), Alexander (b lMay1818, m Eve
Musser?), Sarah (b 23Sept182O); Susanna (b 3Nov1825, d 7Jul1913 m George RAUB
1845), Maria Anna (b 12Jun1831). Michael Snider
(d between 1850-60) was living in 1850 in Springfield Twp, Mahoning Co, OH
with the family of Joseph and Elizabeth THOMAS. Elizabeth was possibly a
daughter of Michael. I am a descendant of Michael's son, John, who with his
brothers, Abraham and Alexander, settled in Defiance Co OH 1850-60.

101. DANIEL SNYDER came to America in 1738(?), d about 1787, Washington Co,
MD. In my line is a son of Daniel, Casper Snyder (d 29Jul1797 Washington Co
MD, Clear Spring area). Daniel had three other children: Daniel, Mary and
Catharina. Casper Snyder's wife was Mary FRY (d/o John Fry). Their children:
George, John, Jacob, Peter, Leonard, Catherine, Susanna, Jonathan, Henry, and
Daniel. My ancestor is Jonathan Snyder (b 150ct1780 Clear Spring area,
Washington Co MD; d 22Sept1858) m Sarah MILLER (d/o Capt John Miller and
Julianna STEIN) 3lAug 1803, moved to Greene Co, OH in 1816. Sarah Miller
Snyder (b 13Aug1785, d 6Jun1836 in Greene Co, OH, mt. Beaver-creek Twp, German
Evangelic Luthernand German Union Church Cemetery.) Children of Jonathan and
Sarah: Samuel, Juliana, Joseph, Jonathan Jr, Henry, Simon, Mary (m Andrew
BAUGHMAN), Elizabeth Anna (m Daniel HARNER), John, and David. Jonathan m 2)
Elizabeth Ankeney KERSHNER (from Clear Spring area, widow of Benjamin
Kershner). My line is through Elizabeth Anna Snyder Harner (b Janl82O
Oldtown, Xenia Twp, Greene Co, OH; m Daniel Harner, Byron area 105ept1837; d
23Feb1879 mt. Byron Cemetery) Elizabeth and Daniel's children: Sarah
Elizabeth (m Warren STEELE), Maggie (m Frank ROUTZONG), Jonathan, and David
Snyder Harner (1840-1930 Xenia, OH), my great grandfather, paternal. Note: I
have not used the German spelling, SCHNEIDER, but it appears often in the
first 2 or 3 generations.

102. CONRAD SNYDER (b 3Aug1764 Northampton Co, PA of undetermined parents) It
is thought that he and his three brothers: Baltzer, George, and John (or
Jacob) were offspring of one of the several Snyder families of Northampton Co.
All four boys were Revolutionary soldiers. Baltzer was killed by Indians
during an ambush at Nescopeck (Wyoming Valley), PA, in 1780. I have no
subsequent knowledge of George or John Snyder. In 1786 Conrad m Eve Catherine
KNOUSE. She was also from an established Knouse family line in Northampton
Co. After their marriage, Conrad and Eve moved to Two Taverns, Adams Co, PA,
and established the family of 12 children there where he d 5Mar1837.

103.GEORGE SCHNEIDER (b lODecl8l3, d 11Feb1897, m Elizabeth STECK who was b
4Jan1816, d 29Nov1902) They left Malbach, Groszherzegthum, Hessen (N of
Baden) Germany in July 1840 with two yr old son Baltzar. On the vessel
'Katrina' on the Atlantic Ocean a daughter was b 14Jul184O. A story is told
the baby was Christened Platina after Capt Plato or Katherina after the
vessel. Located family in Waterloo Co Ontario, Canada in 1861 near
Hawkesville, bought Crown land, later moving to Wallace Twp Perth Co Ontario,
Canada, where George and Elizabeth were buried in 6th line cemetery. Ten
Baltzar (b July 1838, d 7Sept1914, m Elizabeth (Eliza) Bebesee or BENZE, d
lODecl9l7, both buried Perth Co Ontario, Canada); Katherine 14Jul184O, left

who was b in Germany in 1835; Katherine d 28Mar1872, buried East Bennington,
USA). Barney later married Katherine's sister Margaretha (Margaret), b

Elizabeth Schneider (b 2Nov1842, d 1914, m Daniel DETWEILER who was b 1843 and
d 7May1916, buried Perth Co', Ontario, Canada; Henry (b 22Jan1846, d
25Nov1927, m Catharine Anna ROPPEL who was b 21Aug1847 Ziegenheim, Germany,
moved to Canada in the mid 1850's, buried Wallace Twp, Perth Co, Ontario,
Canada; George (b 9Apr1847, d 7Dec1930, m Mary WAGNER who was b 28Feb1854, d

Canada lived near Waterloo and Listowel area, Providence Ontario, while the
Schneider (Snyder) families in USA lived in Wyoming Co, Bennington, NY area,
now spread over a larger area.

104.HENDRICK SCHNEIDER was a Palatine immigrant to the Germantown, NY area in
the early 17OOs. His son, Cunrath (Conrad) SNYDER, m Susanna MULLER,
24Aug1741, in the Loonenburg Lutheran Church. Susanna Muller was the d/o
Samuel Muller and wife, Anna Catharina SINGER. Cunrath Snyder and Susanna
Muller had 10 children: Samuel Snyder (b 17Nov1745, m Regina GERENREICH);
Henry Snyder; Johannes Snyder (baptised 5Jan1757); William Snyder (baptised
2Jun1759); Conrad Snyder (b ca 1763); Anna Snyder (christened 20Dec1746, m
Johanas SCHIEFER); Anna Margaretha Snyder (b 4Nov1751); Maria Snyder; Eva

105.DANIEL SNYDER (b/d ?) Disappeared, m Elizabeth COCHENEIMER or
COCHENAVER. Elizabeth was b 1788 in PA, d 3Mar1864, buried in Quaker Lynn
Cemetery, near Lynn, Indiana. Daniel Snyder lived in PA, exact place not
known. He married Elizabeth in PA we think. They moved to Montgomery Co, OH,
where their 1st son Jerome was born, they later moved to Seven mile, OH.
While living there, Daniel went back to PA to settle his estate. He rode his
horse to Cincinnati where he got on board a boat to go up the Ohio River to
PA. He was never heard of again. Someone sent his clothing and saddle to his
wife Elizabeth. Elizabeth lived in Sevenmile for several years and raised her
two sons, they are as follows: Jerome Snyder (b 21Mar1822 in Montgomery Co,
OH, d 19Jan1904, buried in Quaker Lynn Cemetery, Lynn, IN; m Rebecca BROWN b
18Aug1829, d 18Aug1850; and they had one son, Amos Snyder b 16May1850, d
245ept1933); and Salathiel Snyder (b 3Mar1827, d 24Dec1860, he m Eleanor ? and
they had two children: Anna Imelia b 8Jan1856 and Cassius Delmar b 240ct1857.
