GUELDA, Joanna Lila - Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in
Union cemetery for Joanna Lila Guelda of 405 Lincoln Avenue, who died June 2 in
a Bakersfield hospital. A reader from the Christian Science Church will
officiate at the graveside service. Mrs. Guelda was a native of Kansas and had
lived in Kern County for many years. She owned and operated two beauty shops in
the Bakersfield area, the last having been Joanna's Beauty Shop in K Street.
Mrs. Guelda was a member of the Taft All girl's Band of the 1930's which
gained much acclaim for its performance in the Rose Bowl parade. Survivors
include one sister, Mrs. Billie Butler of Bakersfield and nieces and nephews. Mish
Funeral Home, Oildale.
