Next Bank Holiday weekend the Society of Genealogists are holding the
eleventh Family History Fair in London - the pre-eminent UK event for family
historians, regularly receiving in excess of 3000 visitors.

This coming Fair will be held at the Royal Horticultural Society, New Hall
and Conference Centre, Greycoat Street, Westminster, London SW1, Saturday 3
and Sunday 4 May 10am-5pm.
Tickets are six pounds on the door, or four pounds from the Society (020
7251 8799) before 23 April.

Exhibitors range from family history societies, record offices and
repositories to second-hand book dealers, computer software specialists,
conservationists and local historians. It is also an invaluable opportunity
to meet and talk with other family historians.

We also have a prize draw with contributions from S&N, Ancestry.com, Society
of Genealogists, Family Historian (software), Ancestors magazine, National
Institute for Genealogical Studies (Canada). There is also the opportunity
to win binders for Computers in Genealogy magazine.

David Hawkings is giving a free talk on his forthcoming book 'Fire Insurance
Records for Local & Family Historians' including mentions of lively
household inventories of the rich and famous down the centuries. The
publisher invites you pick up your free lecture ticket in the foyer of the
Hall, 3 and 4 May.
