I purchased V4.4 of Family Tree Maker in early July this year. When V5 was
released (in August) I was somewhat disappointed and I contacted Broderbund
about purchasing the upgrade to V5. They told me that they had a policy of
free upgrades for people who have bought an earlier within 90 days of the
release of the new one.

Version 5 arrived a few days ago. I am delighted to say that some of the
irritations in earlier versions have been fixed. For example, there is now
no limit on the number of facts that can be entered about an individual. It
is also much easier to rearrange facts.

So far I am happy with the program. I also think that Broderbund's attitude
to providing upgrades is highly commendable.
