Doesn't just apply to those living abroad. I live in Cumbria, which makes
London well out of my reach for normal travel. Like Richard, there are a
number of lectures, etc. that look very interesting, but they are denied to me
because of distance.

What law was the Society quoting with regard to taping lectures? Surely if the
lecturers do not object there can be no problem. Or would they demand a fee
for such a service? Surely it cannot be beyond our ability to find a simple
solution to this problem.
