I've similarly found that baptisms for members of my HALSEY family in
Hertfordshire appear on both the IGI and the VRI. On closer inspection
though, all the duplicate entries are from parish registers extractions
in the VRI but from private submissions in the IGI. (It's my
understanding that there are no private submissions in the VRI.)
Could you tell us if your 26 IRONSIDEs in the IGI are private
submissions by members of the LDS Church or controlled extractions from
Parish Registers?
(For anyone unfamiliar with how to spot the difference, controlled
extractions from registers in the IGI always have batch numbers
beginning with the letters C, K, J or P. A batch number beginning with P
means that the event is extracted from a Printed list - P does not mean
Private!)
