Family Tree magazine has undertaken regular surveys of its
readership and tries to respond to views expressed.
Perhaps the SOG could consider doing the same. (Or has it
already done so, and 'cos the magazine is a bit dull I
missed it?!)

I agree with the latter sentence. But its a pity if we
need to be reminded of email etiquette. Simple courtesy
would do, and you can take issue with someone else's
opinion, or way of expressing themselves, and remain
polite.
