Thanks Peter and the rest of you who helped me learn some new terms. It's
been interesting. The "Queen's English" as my mother always called it - Is
an intriguing, if sometimes mystifying thing. Much like people and personal
computers. <G>
(After spending most of today trying to get my windows 98 communication
ports back in sync after a major hic-cough, to hear a technician explain:
"Well the instructions ......are not very good on that point" Read: the
vital instruction wasn't even given. I know I have a sense of humour hiding
somewhere for I did find that quite amusing!)
It is hard to 'know' how a message is intended to be taken.
Regards,
Catherine Low
