I am sure that police stations often have war memorials. Many serving
officers transferred to the military being replaced by members of the
Special Constabulary. I am sure that Fulham Police Station before it was
rebuilt had a war memorial (and may still have one, now).
New Scotland Yard has a book, a different page of which is opened each day,
in the front foyer next to an "eternal flame" and includes all personnel
killed on duty including those during the London "Blitz".
The incumbent of Matterdale Church in Cumberland wrote a "Roll of Honour" -
which included all parishioners serving in the Great War and not only the
war dead - in the Parish register. Did other vicars do so? See relevant
page on my site, Matterdale Matters.
