Gibbons Great Britain Specialised Stamp Catalogue Vol 2 has brief
details of postage rates.

Postcards were 1/2d from 1 Jan 1901 only until 3 Jun 1918 when raised to
1d
It does not give the rate for private postcards from 1894 to 1900,
presumably letter rate of 1d
