[ I would be willing to set up and run such a mailing list - but it would
be wide open - i.e. not confined to members only, and therefore a little
less controlled - I am not sure if I will have time before Christmas but at
least before year end. However, ----- Will those who are proposing such
a list please define the scope and rules - my other Society commitments
mean that from my point of view it will be run with the minimum of admin
from me.

I would suggest a name like and I
would also suggest putting a stop at say 1840 to keep more modern stuff off
topic - If that is the wish of the proposers. Are there going to be
enough takers? No ideas, rules etc. then no list !!! - Geoff - SoG
