Hi All

As I will soon be off this list as I will not be renewing my SoG membership
this year I want to take the chance to say 'bye to all my friends here and
thank them for all the help and assistance I have received over the years.

I am a "Country Member" and can no longer justify payment of SoG fees for the
very poor service Country Members receive from the Society. I am aware of the
financial restraints facing the Society, but fear that in facing them it is
becoming more and more London orientated and is changing its point of focus
form furthering Genealogy to preserving the SoG and the two are beginning to
look very different.

I will still be continuing with genealogy and maintaining my contact with the
various local groups (on and off the Internet) and with the GOONS, so I will
still 'see' many of you about and still be available to provide help and/or
data via e-mail and post.
