Following on from David Hawgood's message about the Fair I would like to
thank all those people who volunteered and spent time helping to make the
weekend an enjoyable event yet again. We all meet many old friends and know
doubt made many new ones.

My own special thanks to the team that helped with the computer section on
the dais, many not even members of the Society. We had a large number of
success with the 1901 census but it would have been nice to have meet some
of those from the list. If we missed you make a point of introducing
yourself next year! Mind that assumes that you can fight you way through
the crowd

If you had have made it up there then you may have been lucky to have met
Dick Eastman, of the newsletter fame, who flew over from the States
especially for the Fair. He has been a couple of times in the past is was
just as impressed as before and the did apologise for the newsletter being
late this week

We were also lucky enough to have John Konvalinka with us. John is a well
known lecturer in the States and again came over especially for the Fair and
to give his excellent lecture on the previous Wednesday on "Newest
developments in researching US repositories"
