Phil:
Sorry if you get multiple copies of this - it never seems to have been
delivered on the SoG list.

Subject: [SoG] WWI Nurses' Records

| I have in my possession a letter written by the nurse who was with my
uncle,
| John Thomas Hardy Thirkell, when he died in France in January 1919. Having
| survived the War he was one of the many who died of the Spanish Flu and
was
| subsequently buried in the Busigny Cemetery in France.
|
| I know that the letter was of great comfit to his mother, my grandmother,
| and the rest of the family and I wonder if it would be possible to find
out
| a little about the particular nurse and what subsequently became of her.
The
| only information that I have is a name: A.Duncan, Sister in Charge, 12
| Casualty Clearing Station , B.E.Force. Could anyone advise what records
| there might be that could help me to find out a little more about this
| particular nurse?
|
| Regards,
|
| Phil Thirkell
