My brother in law's father and uncle both went to Aberdeen university to
study medicine. His father was born 29th Jan 1910 and graduated in April
1932 as M.B. Ch.B.

The other was the elder brother (by a couple of years) and he graduated in
July 1930. He did additional qualifications later.

They are both in the medical register as practising doctors until their
respective deaths - and quite a long time after in the case of the younger -
presumably no-one thought to mention to the people keeping the register that
this person died some 10 years ago! It gives details of the different
addresses that people had over their time as doctors.

Aberdeen University has been very helpful and photocopied the records they
hold - there is even a photograph and details of the courses taken over the
time he was there. Of course the copyright laws are involved and this
stuff cannot be published but for the family it is very important.

So I would contact the various registers for scans of the pages holding the
persons info from the first date to the last - and intermittently through
when addresses changed - plus the university attended for copies of personal
details held by them and any later details - my brother in law's father's
file held details of his wife even though they did not marry until after he
graduated.
