Miss Ella Vogle, one of the best qualified teachers ever emploed in the
schools of this town and during the past session asst. princepal, has been
elected to a position in the high school at Duquense Pa, The directors of
our borough public schools commit a greivous wrong when they permit a
teacher of Miss Vogle's pre-eminent ability to accept a postion elsewhere.

Readers of this paper will recall an article published some six months ago
in which the marital infelicities of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Griffith, of
near Edie in Lincoln Township were set forth.
The case of the trouble was one John Yowler, for whom Mrs. Griffith showed
an unwifely devotion, and when she was remonstrated with by her husband she
called to Yowler who was in the house at the time, and who administered a
sound thrashing to her spouse. Yowler was arrested at the time and lodged
in jail, but a short time afterwards succeeded in comprimsing the case with
Griffith with the understanding that he was to leave Somerset County.
Yowler went west upon being released from jail but a short time ago he
returned and at once renewed his liason with Mrs. Griffith. Early Friday
morning both Mrs. Griffith and Yowler were lodged in jail where they will
linger until September term of Court, when they will be called upon to
answer a charge of adultry
