You may already have this. It is the obituary for Christian S. LIVENGOOD
(named "Christ" in the article you quoted):
Obituary, Scottdale Independent Newspaper, 11 May 1899 Death of Mr.
Livengood
C.S. Livengood died at his home on Arthur Avenue on Sunday night, May 7,
1899, after several months illness from heart trouble and asthma aged 28
years. Funeral Services were held at his late residence Wednesday forenoon
at 10:30 o'clock following interment in Scottdale Cemetery. Deceased is
survived by a wife and one child who have the sympathy of a large circle of
friends. Mr. Livengood was a native of Somerset County but had resided in
Scottdale for a number of years, conducting a blacksmithing business on
Stoner Street for several years. During the past winter he was seized with
an attach of grip from which he never fully recovered. During his residence
here he mad a large number of friends.
The Death Records for C. S. Livengood says the following: White, Male, 29
yrs, married, born in Somerset Co, Blacksmith, died May 8 1899, Scottdale
Boro, of Heart Disease, duration of 2 weeks, buried in Scottdale, on 10 May
1899, recorded Dec 1, 1899. This is recorded at Greensburg, Westmoreland Co,
PA Courthouse.
I found this information on Jerry Pry's web site, at www.isrv.com/~jerrypry.
I asked Jerry if he knew who Christian's parents were, but he did not.
I would love to know exactly who the John LIVENGOOD is. I actually believe
Christian to be the son of John J. and Catherine (ENOS) LIVENGOOD. They
have a son, Christian, listed as 3/12 years old on the 1870 census for Elk
Lick Township. John J. was listed as a blacksmith, which was Christian's
trade in Scottdale. It seems pretty obvious to me that this is the
connection, but I have no solid proof.
Please let me know if you have information to make a connection. Thanks.
