I also am a George Folk descendant. This cemetery was a family plot. In
the 1940's the farmer who then owned the land removed the stones and plowed
over the cemetery. Daniel J. Folk, Jr. and Dwight Folk talked to the
farmer who now owns the farm ( not the one who removed the stones) and he
showed where they were thrown down an embankment. Dan had the stones
removed to the cemetery behind the Springs Historical Society. They are
field stones. Before Dan passed away in 1993 he was planning to raise
funds to have a plaque placed with the stones. He sent me a copy of what
he planned to have printed on the plaque.

I would like to like to see the plaque erected but unfortunatly living in
Ohio it would be difficult for me to make the necessary arrangments.

I have a list of the people buried in the Folk-Shoemaker Cemetery and if
anyone is interested I will post it for you.
