Subject: [SOMGEN] Holley/Holly/Hawley/Hulley/Hooley's moved to Ontario
Date: Wed, 17 Jan 2001 05:47:32 -0800
We understand that a group of Holley/Holly/Hawley/Hulley/Hooley's moved from
Pennsylvania, possibly Somerset County, to York and Peel Counties in Ontario
in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
Specifically, I am trying to find the parents/siblings/ancestors of Adam
Holley (circa 1811 PA - 1892 ON). Adam was on the 1837 census in Ontario,
but not before.
I would be very interested in any other information you have and would be
willing to share about any Holley/Holly/Hawley/Hulley/Hooley families in
Ontario prior to 1900. Please let me know if you have any information about
these families.
Thank you in advance for your help.
I should also mention that we have just started a specific e-mail
discussion group/web site for people interested in these families at
http://www.egroups.com/group/CANHolleyFamilyTree If you are interested in
any of these family trees, please stop by the site and take a look at the
queries and responses that have been posted so far and see if you can add
anything. Also, if you reply to this e-mail, I will send you an invitation
to join the group.
Cheers,
Gord Holley
