I believe you are correct about Jumonville and the Soldier's Orphan School.
This was posted on the Fayette list by Bobbi.
There are some records at Jumonville. Last winter my husband and I went
there and everyone was very nice and allowed us to go in the museum and look
at the original books with the children's names. They have books in the
office building also.
Unfortunately my relative was not listed.
One fact I did not realize was that allot of the children were not
"orphaned". They would go there to learn a trade.
A book you can purchase from Jumonville is 'Upon this Mountain'. It tells
the history of Jumonsville Methodist Training Center and its origins
(orphanage)
You can write`Jumonville, RR # 2 x 128, Hopwood, Pa
