I'm looking for any possible information or leads on Somerset County or
possibly(?) Westmoreland Shaffer/Shafer/Shaver families who settled in
German Twp, Fayette County, PA.

I have a Somerset Shaffer family who settled there between 1853-1855. I can
place them in the Berlin/Brothersvalley area until 1847 but cannot connect
them with any Shaffer line. They moved to Preston County, WV with
Weyand/Weyant relatives and by 1853-1855 were in German Twp. Fayette County.

At that time, German Twp.had an overwhelming, for lack of a better term,
number of Shaffer families. Since I have not been able to find a connection
or additional family information in Somerset, I trying to find a family
connection in German Twp, Fayette, that may lead back to Somerset or
possibly Westmoreland.
