I have joined this list a little while ago and wanted to ask something and then tell you all something.

First of all, I was wondering if anyone out there might have some information about Henry Geisel. He is from Germany and came to Somerset Co to live. I believe he came to the US about 1839/1840. The first census I find him on is 1840. His wife is Catherine Merley and I believe he had about 9 children, although I'm not exactly sure about that. I CANNOT figure out what port of entry he came into nor what ship. I have searched long and hard and nothing yet. He was born Jan 19, 1798 & died April 29. 1865 in Someret. I wrote to the Genealogy Historical Library in Somerset to see if I could get help about ship passenger list or something along those lines but have never heard from them.

The second thing I wanted to offer is help, I have an 1850 census of Somerset County on CD and would be happy to look up any family info for anyone.
