When Carol Hepburn first alerted us to the surname list, she told us that it
was being handled by Doug Beal and that he would send the instructions to
the list. It seems that some of you did not get those instructions or
received them and did not realize that they were from him which he sent on
September 13. His message came through with this email address
So I am pasting his instructions here again. The main
reason they are doing it this way is so your mailboxes are not swamped full
of individual emails. Then when all are submitted to Doug, we will get them
in small batches in October. Carol mentioned also that she would appreciate
it if you do not send the names to the mailing list but to Doug personally
off the list.
Beverly
Here are Doug's instructions.
List Members,
The surname list is now open through September. I will finalize the names
for
the Somerset website on October 1st. Please follow these instructions:
1. Do not post names directly to the list. Reply to this email address
()
2. Send me your surnames in CAPITAL LETTERS IN LIST FORMAT, example
BEAL
BAER
SHOCKEY
(if I need to retype your information it can lead to mistakes)
3. No messages necessary or desired, just your surnames
4. Please not everyone reply at once. Space out sending your surnames as
the exchange in open the remainder of the month. (I may get 500 emails !)
This exchange has been a real success in past years and should yield a
listing of well over a 1,000 surnames. It is a good way to make some new
connections to others on the list that are searching the same surnames. Any
questions feel free to send me an email. thanks
Doug Beal
