Subject: [SOMGEN] Mrs. Mary V. (MITCHNER-KELLEY) EDWARDS of Markleton
Date: Thu, 17 Oct 2002 21:32:50 -0400

While rummaging through my grandparent's box of old newspaper clippings and photos, I ran across this obituary clipping. I have no idea why my grandparents kept it. Was it a good friend? A relative? If anyone knows who this was, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Mrs. Mary V. Kelley Edwards, 79, of Markleton died Tuesday at the home of her son Norman M. Kelley in Hyndman.

Mrs. Edwards had been ill and had spent the past eight weeks at her son's home. She was born February 27, 1873 in Wilmington, Del., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchner.

Her first husband, John Kelley, died in 1906. Her second husband, Thomas Edwards, died 15 years ago.

Three children survive: Mrs. Blanche Bell of Henderson, Md.; George Kelley of Confluence, and Norman Kelley mentioned. Five grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.

Mrs. Edwards was a member of the United Brethren church of Markleton. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Mount Zion United Brethren church near Rockwood. Her body will lie in state in the church from 1 p.m. until 2.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. L.E. Ritchey of Casselman. Burial in Mount Zion cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ziegler funeral home of Hyndman.

That's all. Thanks.

Scott
