Here's a follow-up to my David P. info. below. It appears that David P. is
*probably* the son of Peter G. and Mary Kimmel MILLER. The following
children were named in a petition by Estate Executor Peter Gindlesperger,
3/2/1859, naming widow and issue:
Abraham b Somerset, PA 1826
Isaac b Somerset, PA 1828 m Magdalena Blough
David P. b Somerset, PA ca 1831 m Mary Ann Blough
Peter b Somerset, PA ca 1840
Henry P. b Somerset, PA m Catherine ?

There's no sister, Becky, but I notice it's all males named and it could
very well be that since this is from the document named above, only the
male children were involved...any girls could have had settlements made
upon them as they married, etc. However, if this is the Peter who had the
brother, David P., he would be too young, obviously, to be father of your
John.

The father of Peter G. [above] was Christian MILLER m Veronica [Fanny] ?
and Christian was the son of another John MILLER. I am about to enter
those family groups in another message that referenced your original query.

The following information was obtained from files from the Windber
Genealogical Society:

John MILLER m Elizabeth Swank
Ch: Mary Ann MILLER b 1821 d 1847 m Frederick FOUST, Jr.
Ch: Daniel FOUST b 1844 d 1933 m Amelia LEHMAN
This is the only child I follow on this line.

It seems that your John Miller might be this person - the daughter, Mary
Ann, would have been married before the 1850 census and if she did have a
daughter, Sarah, the age would be correct for her to be living with her
grandparents after her mother died.

I also have a David P. MILLER in my data base, but alas, no parents listed.
He married Mary ? and had a son, Jacob D. b 1860 d 1917 m Carrie BLACKBURN.

I'll keep looking through my MILLERS - I descend through two lines of them!
