Martha E. Weimer (Aug. 28, 1895-Mar. 14, 1993) is the daughter of Ozias
Weimer (Oct. 20, 1847-July 14, 1941) and Elizabeth Rose Breig (Jan 1,
1852-Oct. 4, 1931).
Leo C. Althoff (Jan. 20, 1896-Mary 20, 1983) is the son of Joseph Aloysius
Althoff (Mar 13, 1855-Aug. 1, 1932) and Anna Marie Elizabeth Crosta (Nov.
16, 1856-Aug. 1934)
GETTYSBURG COMPILER 21 FEBRUARY 1920
ALTHOFF-WEIMER
On January 28, at West Salisbury, PA, Miss Martha E. Weimer and Leo C.
Althoff were united in marriage by Rev. Fr. McCarty at a nuptial mass. The
attendants were Miss Lucy Stacer,a cousin of the bride, and Geo. Weimer,
brother of the bride, best man. The groom is the youngest son of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Althoff, of York, and related to the Althoffs of this place. He
served in the late war, being overseas thirteen months, with the 82nd
Division, 327th Infantry. Although participating in many battles, he was
more fortunate than five of his cousins who sleep on foreign soil. A
peculiar coincidence of this marriage is that fifteen years ago the eldest
son of Mr. and Mrs. Althoff married the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Weimer; nine years ago the fifth son of the Weimers married the fifth
daughter of the Althoffs, and now the youngest son and youngest daughter of
each family are married.
