Subject: JOHANN/JOHN DIETEL- HELP PLEASE
Date: Thu, 23 Jun 2005 10:14:59 -0600
Is there anyone who could copy the Naturalization Record, or page 3 of
Iscrupe's book for me (see pertinent data below) so I could have further
evidence on this John Dietel? We believe him to be the uncle of my
wife's great-grandmother (these two men noted below could be the same
person; the entries are from my data base, and the 1939 arrival is
definitely our Johann) and have just recently found these data on him.
Of course, I would reimburse any expense incurred for this service, be
it reasonable :-)
We've worked on my wife's family for 25 years and have ALL the
available data back to the 1500s, but Johann is elusive. We're trying
now to tie him down with better documentation.
If anyone is interested in Dietel or Kießling information in Cook
County, Illinois, I will share what we have.
Ancestry.com. New York, 1820-1850 Passenger and Immigration List, John
Dietel, arrived in New York 9 July 1839 on the brig VESTA, age 30, from
Bremen, originated from Großlosnitz, farmer, destined for Philadelphia.
Microfilm M237, Roll #39, List 467.
Wm. L Iscrupe, compiler,
"Naturalization Records, 1802-1854; Somerset County, Pennsylvania."
Laughlintown, PA: SW PA Genealogical Services, 1979, pg. 3: John Adam
Dietel (no age given), arrived in Somerset Co., 1845. (This could be
our Johann Dietel, on his way west to Illinois)
THANK YOU, Dave Ross
