Hi Phyllis,
I think that the mortality schedule included people who had died within the
year prior to the census. So mortality schedules would appear every 10
years for each county, just as the censuses do. The should be available in
any library where census records can be found or on Ancestry.com, if you
have a subscription.
I will send you a private e-mail with more info about this George Harden.
He was my G3 grandfather.
