Hi Heather
I would like to offer my services in helping transcribe records for you.
Excel is a cinch, I have some knowledge of Simonstown, and am interested in
that my KALIS and KIRSTEN families (and others) are both closely linked to
the Simonstown area, although more with the DR Church and Methodist Church,
whereas I presume St Francis is Anglican or Catholic? Deciphering old
handwriting is the real challenge, but I have done a fair amount.
My biggest problem is that I am about to go full time at work, which will
reduce the time I have available, but am still willing to help. I live in
Bergvliet.
Thanks for the background info.
Kind regards
Ann Smythe

Hi There
Here is some background information on the History of Simonstown which will
also be placed on the Family Tree web site www.familytree.co.za soon along
with info on all towns in South Africa.
We are also just about to start transcribing the St. Francis church records
of Simonstown and are looking for some willing volunteers who are able to
read very old handwriting and have some knowledge of old families from the
area and are proficient in excel. .....
