Thanks for checking Becky, but the names on the document clearly read
Bessie Shapcott and C.A. Cass.

Might there be a Port Elizabeth 'census' or 'directory' I could check for 1901-1905 ?

Hi Mavis
Any chance that this surname could have been spelt with an 'E' at the end?
This is all I could find.
Let me know if you think that this is something that you can work on, as
there are more inscriptions that I can post if need be.
Sorry, no entry for SHAPCOTT.

Old South End Cemetery, Port Elizabeth
BRP - Block, Row, Plot
RC - Roman Catholic
CASSE, C. D., d. 1908, aged 39 yrs., RC, BRP A 190Bs
Best wishes
